Mien Shiang – a Chinese art and science of face reading has existed for more than three thousand years. A human face reflects his/her personal history, individuality, represents a map of a person’s traits, emotional capacity, talents and weaknesses. Most of the face reading is happening every day on a subconscious level. Often times, five minutes after being introduced to a new person we might feel strong attraction or antipathy. According to Mien Shiang all the facial features are of extreme significance, but it states that “the face is a picture of the mind and the eyes are its’ interpreter”.
A Deep Look In the Eye
According to Patrician McCarthy, the founder of The Mien Shiang Institute, the shape, the size and especially the expression of a person’s eyes are the key to decode his/her personality.
The more wide-open one’s eyes are, the more receptive, observant and emotional the person is. People who narrow their eyes tend to be suspicious, private and analytical.
The Size of the Eyes
Large eyes usually belong to emotional, spiritual and creative people that are blessed with imagination and cursed with constant desire for attention. If the large eyes are also bright, their owner possesses high-spirited energy, but can also become aggressive at times.
Large and soft eyes look beautiful, but usually belong to idealistic dreamers with their heads hopelessly “in the clouds”. Those people can be smart, gifted and inspiring, but are often extremely unrealistic and get lost in fantasies, especially romantic ones.
People with unusually large eyes tend to have scattered thoughts and feelings, are easily overwhelmed and have poor communicational skills.
People with small eyes tend to be more practical, image-conscious, reasonable, down-to-earth and have a gift of controlling their emotions. Those who have unusually small eyes are self-centered and materialistic.
The Shape Of the Eyes
According to Patrician McCarthy the rounder the eyes are, the happier their owner is. People with round eyes tend to be alert, caring, perceptive and attractive. Almond-eyed persons possess self-discipline and know how to control their urges.
Close-set eyes belong to innovators and natural born leaders, however their owners tend to be joyless and irritable.
Deep-set eyes express strong sensuality and that’s why they were nicknamed “bedroom eyes”. People with deep-set eyes are creative lovers, but their fidelity leaves a lot to be desired.
In order to read a person’s eyes properly make a healthy natural eye contact, try to focus on what is memorable and most vivid about their eyes, rely on your instincts and do your best to see a person’s traits in different shades, not just in black and white.
